The 20th Scientific Body of the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission had held under Chairmanship of Dr. Nitya Anand at Ghaziabad on 21st August 2010 in R. S. Iyer Hall. The meeting was attended by Galaxy of experts consisting of members of the Scientific Body, other subject experts, and special invitees. The meeting was of high significance as the IP 2010 has been published in record time of 2 years by active and deep involvements of the members.
Dr. Nitya Anand also presented a momento to Secretary-cum-Scientific Director on behalf of the employees of IPC for their significant contribution.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the participating members and Chairman, Dr. Nitya Anand by Dr. G. N. Singh, Secretary-cum-Scientific Director, IPC.

I n the meeting, members reviewed the progress made on various fronts and deliberated in detailed about the Addendum 2011 of IP 2010 and National Formulary of India (NFI), IVth edition. A dummy copy of the NFI was put up before the members.


IP 2010 was launched by Dr. Nitya Anand, Chairman, Scientific Body. Quality of print, paper, binding and the display box/slipcase of IP 2010 were appreciated by most of the members.

Twenty one IP Reference Substances (IPRS) were launched by Dr. Nitya Anand. The SB members appreciated the efforts made by the scientific staff of IPC to commence such type of work like providing the IPRS after performing the Ring Test/Characterization of the reference material.

Dr. Madhur Gupta, NPO, Essential Drugs and Medicines, Health Systems Development Cluster, WHO, India, expressing her views regarding collaboration of IPC with WHO.

Scientific Body member Sh. J. L. Sipahimalani, Dr. DBA Narayana and other dignitaries for their significant contribution to the IPC were honoured by presenting the Momentos, Appreciation letter and ties with IPC logo by Dr. Nitya Anand.

Under the guidance of Dr. Nitya Anand, IPC started to make its campus eco friendly. In first phase the solar lights were installed in the campus particularly out side the building. Now, in second phase “Water Harvesting Unit” also installed and this was dedicated to IPC by Dr. Nitya Anand during 20th Scientific Body Meeting on 21st August, 2010.
