A high level meeting attended by leading practitioner’s representative from Indian Drug Manufacturers Association and other subject experts for updating the manuscript of NFI that was held at AIIMS on 11-06-2010. Prof. Y. K. Gupta(Chair), Head - Department of Pharmacology, AIIMS has expressed satisfaction on the content and progress of the NFI. Dr. Weerasuriya, WHO, Geneva has also expressed his desire to provide all possible support in updating of the NFI. The officials of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare are keen to have the current version of the NFI at the earliest to ensure the rational use of generic medicines through this publication. The staff of the IPC are working round the clock with full dedication to complete this Hercules job by the end of July 2010. It is expected that pre-print version of NFI would be ready for circulation among the stakeholders for their technical comments by end of August 2010.
